The economic development of a country is directly linked to its industrial process. At present, Colombia is growing strongly in mining as well as the market for cars and heavy machinery, some components used for these activities require a special process to work correctly and lasts over time.

The honing process is the final parts, mainly cylinders are subjected to give a specific internal surface finish, which allows them to better retain liquid lubrication applied for operation.

The industrial use aforementioned cylindrical parts that have in common the honing process although it is not as common in the Colombian industry. Burnishing is a process performed by abrasive stones, which provide roughness properties and good tolerances. This method of scratching the inner surface makes the lubricant move better to get good performance.

Upon honing a very important factor for proper honing is the fluid used in the process, because this helps to cool and reduces friction between the tool and the workpiece.
